There are a few parts of this photo that remind me to be thankful. Number 1: I’m thankful for my kitties even though they try to steal the spotlight every once in awhile. They make me smile everyday! Number 2: I’m thankful for pumpkin desserts and more specifically, pumpkin ice cream, which is what I was eating out of my coffee cup. Number 3: The coffee cup in the photo belonged to my best friend’s grandmother who I took care of on many occasions during her descent into dementia. She passed away this year, but before she left, she called me her guardian angel. She came into my life when I was very depressed and gave me purpose and made me feel valued. I am so thankful that she was a part of my life and that she was able to move onto the next great adventure wherever she may be!
A good kitty cat knows how to steal the spotlight :). Pumpkin desserts are my absolutely favorite- i make a killer white chocolate pumpkin drop cookie. Grandparents - our own - or those we ‘adopt’ are wonderful people, filled with a lifetime of love to give back. It is amazing that a generation that dealt with so much war, in general has so much love left in them. I am so glad you were able to help her, to serve her and help her find her way to whereever she is now. I hope now she gets the great opportunity to be YOUR guardian angel!
